Welcome to the home of PUNCTURE KIT – The Bicycle Drummer
David Osborne is the designer and drummer of Puncture Kit. David designed Puncture Kit after arriving from Australia to the UK in 2008. As an avid cyclist, he bought his single speed bike when he first arrived. With his bike turned upside down, fixing a puncture in London’s Green Park one day…the idea just came…drums are going on that.
Since then, David has dedicated himself to the on-going study of drumming and percussion and the challenge of developing his drumming solo performances and recordings. His approach to his drumming is mainly self taught through studying many drummers and musicians. He has also studied with world class drummer Benny Greb where he learnt invaluable techniques, musicianship and Benny’s unique rythmic principles.
As Puncture Kit, David is a busy street performer and he also provides dynamic performances for festivals/ events and private shows. Performances have included The BRIT Awards after party 2013 at London’s 02 Arena, The London 2012 Olympic Games Cycling Race and Glastonbury Dance Village. He also provides his dynamic drumming/ percussion to accompany live DJ sets. (Please check a sample of his live drumming/ DJ set at The 2013 BRIT Awards After Party ). A list of other performances can be found on the biography page.
During 2010/11, David spent nearly one year travelling throughout Malawi, Africa, with Puncture Kit visiting remote orphan communities and schools…(please visit the photos page). He kicked off this trip with an appearance at Lake of Stars a festival that promotes Malawian arts and tourism through international interaction and exposure.
During 2013, David is busy producing a live drumming/ percussion sample pack for production sample company, Loopmasters. He can also be seen regularly on weekends entertaining street crowds in London with his unique act.
